Our Summer '08

Our Summer began with one hum-dinger-whiz-bang of a weekend in the end of May with Dallin's graduation! Yes, "Baby Dally" has graduated the big H.S. and is preparing to serve a mission (we'll keep you posted on when/where he gets his call--should be sometime in November)! We're very proud of him and his numerous accomplishments (e.g. getting his Eagle Scout award, winning Regionals in tennis for doubles and going to State, making the All-State team for baseball, etc. etc.) to name a few! Yes, he's a little wonder-pup!
We attended more graduation BBQ's in 2 days than should ever be legal--EVER, beginning with a big-blowout-bash the stake put on honoring all 23 graduating seniors on Friday night--beautiful! (Mom was in charge of the food--we were her helper elves--of course it was fabulous and of course people were helping themselves to fourth and fifth rounds!) After Commencement Exercises on Saturday there was one point where I lost count of how many bar-b-ques we had been to and how many we had left. At least we girls (Mom, Tara, myself, and Kaia) were able to stick to the rule: 1 and done! The boys had a harder time, and as the weekend drew to a close, there were still groans and stomach pains accompanied by Dad's "I should have had just one bbq sandwich" statement followed by "I'm wishing back!" . . . followed by a ponderous silence . . . followed by a foul smell, emanating from the backseat of the minivan where Dallin, Aaron, myself and Tara were scrunched together (notice whose name is first!) No, this didn't happen just once. Also, please note that 3 Demke bums plus 1 Aaron bum is way too much bootie for one bench--this also should never be allowed--EVER!

Dal's girlfriend, Kelsie--what a babe!

Aaron's hidden talent: Watermelon Sculpture!

Mine and Tara's hidden talent: "Blue Steel" faces (Zoolander)
